Dear family, friends and esteemed colleagues,
As most of you are aware by now, those of us in Type of Wood joined with a group of friends and went to Tacloban, in the Philippines and built homes for Super Typhoon Haiyan survivors a couple months ago. When it was time to come home, we knew our work was not done and we would need to return. That time has arrived. We currently have assembled another team of volunteers to go over on or between the dates of April 24th and May 10th, 2014.
Last time, while building simple houses, we purchased and distributed; 60 family sized mosquito nets, 30 pillows, 402 wash basins, $5,000 worth of books, school supplies and backpacks, 250 adult, youth and children's T-shirts, a large suitcase of children's clothes and every Basketball we could purchase in Tacloban, all with the $9,000.00 we raised before going.
If you were not able to be part of our volunteer team for this trip, but are still moved to be help, we would ask you to please consider donating money.
We are paying for our own travel expenses, food, lodging and tools out of our own pockets. All of the donated money collected from this Facebook page is used to buy goods and materials for the people of the Philippines. The dollar goes a lot further in the Philippines and the impact is priceless. Even small donations of only $20 to $50 dollars makes a difference.
To help, just click the Paypal link below to make a donation in any amount you wish. All major credit cards, plus PayPal donations are accepted.
On behalf of Type of Wood Charities and all Filipinos,
Maraming Salamat sa tanan Kayo! Thank you very much to you all
